A few years ago I decided on living a healthier lifestyle. I started eating less sugar, I counted my calories and I started drinking tea. Before that, I was drinking a lot of soda. I was drinking at least one bottle of soda a day and eating fast-food all the time. As I mentioned in my first blog post I was persuaded to drink tea by my friends in China. I soon began experiencing the benefits of drinking this wonderful elixir.
5. It may help with weight loss.
In the years that I started drinking tea, I have lost around 35 lbs. This may not happen to everyone but keep in mind I was also making other healthy lifestyle choices. One study, I found, has shown that the catechins in tea do indeed help you to lose weight.
4. Tea is calorie-free.
No matter what kind of tea you drink, if you don't add milk and sugar, it is a zero calorie beverage.
3. It's inexpensive.
While you might lose weight drinking tea, your wallet will get fatter. Tea is the second most drunk beverage in the world. And that's for the reason that even some of the most expensive teas add up to only cents per cup. you can save even more money by steeping your cup of tea multiple times.
2. Tea improves cardiovascular health
Tea contains flavonoids, which have been shown to lower cholesterol. High cholesterol can lead to narrow and hardened arteries, raising the risk of heart disease and stroke. Most studies have focused on black and green tea.
1. Tea may help fight free radicals.
Tea contains ORAC(oxygen radical absorbance capacity) which destroys free radicals in our body. Our bodies can fight the free radicals on their own, however, they are not perfect at it. So take all the help you can get and start drinking tea if you aren't already.
